Boost a WiFi signal using cardboard and foil

E-mail

For the last few days I've had huge drop in my wifi signal at home, so much so that my desktop couldn't see the router at all! The router definitely needs checking but in the interim I fashioned a booster in about 3 minutes using a piece of cardboard and some aluminium packing foil and I was back browsing at almost normal speed.

WordPress logoWordPress is a powerful publishing platform and it seems to be going from strength to strength. This is partly due to the fact that WordPress is easy to hack i.e. it's easy to re-write code to make the platform do what you want it to.

To overcome this problem, read this Smashing Magazine article on 'hooks' and how they can be used to provide you with powerful tools to customize your WordPress site.

Having recently bought a Mac, I was a bit stumped when I wanted the same information and couldn't locate the equivalent utility easily, and I'm guessing this happens to a lot of new Mac users switching from Windows.

This article on the PC/Mac Smackdown site tells you where to find the task-manager and how to manage it...

It starts to slow down, all of a sudden the 160GB hard drive isn't enough, you want to replace that DVD drive with a Blu-Ray drive etc. What are the options?
